Peyronie’s disease, otherwise known as bent penis or crooked penis, is named after an eighteenth century French surgeon, Francois Gigot de La Peyronie, thus the Peyronie’s disease. Peyronie’s disease is a condition in which a man’s penis is bent by the development of fibrous plaques or nodules on the shaft of the penis. The most common occurrence of Peyronie’s disease is on the top side of the shaft, causing the penis to bend upwards. If the plaque or nodules develop on the underside of the penis, then the penis will bend downwards. In the rare case where Peyronie’s disease develops on both top and bottom of the penis, it can cause shortening of the penis.Peyronie’s disease can be painful, bending and prohibiting sexual intercourse. The emotional distress from Peyronie’s disease, or bent penis – crooked penis, is sometimes more difficult to treat then the actual symptoms.

The Peyronie’s disease pictures below are not intended to serve as a tool for self-diagnosis, but rather to encourage one to seek prompt medical attention from a professional who can answer your questions and prescribe a course of treatment.

A certain degree of curvature of the penis is considered normal, as many men are born with this benign condition, commonly referred to as congenital curvature. But a severely bent penis is a symptom of Peyronie’s Disease and one should immediately seek medical help.

Peyronie’s Disease can be diagnosed by a urologist and though it is easily diagnosed, as seen in these Peyronie’s Disease Pictures, suggested treatment varies greatly.

Peyronie’s Disease Pictures

Peyronie’s Disease Pictures

As you can see by the above pictures showing a curved penis, some of the symptoms can be rather severe. Over time these may improve, but if they don’t and you experience pain in intercourse or impotency surgery may be necessary, but only as a last resort.

Peyronie’s treatment is required for Peyronie’s disease and the sooner the better. Since Peyronie’s disease is the loss of elasticity, it is best treated in the first six months prior to scaring which is permanent. If treated early, it is possible to break the plaque and correct the curvature of the penis. The most widely used Peyronie’s treatment, short of surgery, is an exercise called the Nesbit procedure in which regular exercises are designed to straighten the curved, or bent, penis.

As another Peyronie’s treatment you can do this exercise which is perfectly safe and anyone can perform it without guidance. When the penis is erect, you should bend the penis gently the opposite of the curvature to help loosen and break the plaque. Be careful not to injure yourself any further and do not perform this procedure if there is pain. Performing this procedure until your penis is straight again may take weeks and weeks. Do not force your penis into it’s original state immediately, but gradually allowing it to repair slowly. Be patient, Peyronie’s Treatment is not something that should be rushed.

Peyronie’s treatment

As far as Peyronie’s treatment, some oral medications may help with Peyronie’s disease, including Vitamin E and drugs that decrease swelling. When these do not solve the problem, another option is to inject a drug into the plaque to try to dissolve it.

If these are not effective as a Peyronie’s treatment, then your doctor may recommend surgery in extreme cases. Surgery is a lot more complicated, but can be performed on an outpatient basis allowing patients to return home the same day, or the next, aster surgery.

Peyronie’s treatment

If you have tried oral medications and the Nesbit procedure and have not seen any improvement after these Peyronie’ Treatment, then you should immediately seek the help of a qualified medical professional. They can then recommend the best course of action for Peyronie’s treatment.

Peyronie’s disease, commonly called bent penis or crooked penis, is a common affliction which will affect one in four men in their lifetime. The most common Peyronie’s symptoms is a bent penis or crooked penis. This is usually accompanied by moderate to severe pain when the penis is erect. The penis will look deformed and may look indented on the shaft.

Peyronie’s Symptoms

The curvature of your penis, or hourglass shape, may get worse over the first six to eighteen months (the most common of the Peyronie’s symptoms). After a time, the deformity will not worsen, but it will show during an erection. It will be at it’s most painful during an erection at the onset of Peyronie’s symptoms, however, it usually lessens as time goes on.

Peyronie’s disease is caused by fibrous plaques, or nodules, on the shaft of the penis and when the penis is flaccid, you can feel the lumps in your penis if you are looking for them (Peyronie’s symptoms). In the rare case of plaque or nodules on the top and the bottom of the shaft, you will experience a shortening of the penis.

The actual cause of Peyronie’s disease is still unclear, but many researchers believe the plaque can develop following trauma to the penis that causes localized bleeding inside the penis. It is also believe that Peyronie’s disease can be inherited.

Some of those afflicted with Peyronie’s symptoms may also develop scar tissue on their hands or feet, but this is not so in all cases.

If you feel that you are experiencing any of these Peyronie’s symptoms, such as a bent penis or crooked penis, then you should seek a medical professional’s opinion immediately.

Peyronie’s disease is a condition in which a man’s penis is bent by the development of fibrous plaques or nodules on the shaft of the penis. The most common occurrence of Peyronie’s disease is on the top side of the shaft, causing the penis to bend upwards.
Peyronie’s Disease – Crooked Penis

Peyronie’s disease, bent penis, or crooked penis, can cause mild to severe bending of the penis (thus – crooked penis) and may develop slowly, or may appear overnight. The pain from Peyronie’s disease will decrease over time, but the bend might remain causing sexual problems. In a small percentage of men, Peyronies disease may resolve itself without much pain or permanent curvature of the penis.

Peyronie’s disease is noncancerous, it is not a tumor and the plaque is benign. Peyronie’s disease is not contagious and cannot be transferred during sex with same sex partners.

Peyronie’s disease is very common, it is estimated that up to 1 in 4 men will have Peyronie’s disease at some point in their lives, and usually occurs in men between 30 and 80 years of age. Often those individuals that contract Peyronie’s disease will also develop a condition called Dupuytren’s Contracture, the development of hardened tissue on the hand or foot.

Don’t panic, your not alone. Please take a moment to look at the symptoms and pictures of Peyronie’s disease, or bent penis – crooked penis, and seek a professional opinion.
